Our Wedge Wire Technology

Our wedge wire metalic surface provides

  • High mechanical resistance
  • Continuous slots with openings down to 25µm
  • Customised slot openings
  • High open area
  • Resistance to corrosion
  • Non-clogging operation
  • Easily cleanable surface

The wedge wire surface is obtained by combining v-shaped wires and supports that are resistance welded. Juxtaposed wires, suitably spaced, determine the filtering surface.

Our production capabilities enable this metallic structure to be manufactured either in the form of a cylinder (Ø from 21mm to Ø 956mm by 6 metres long), or in the form of flat panels (2800mm along the slots × 4500mm).

Our industry expertise and our modern manufacturing facilities mean we can adapt Euroslot Kdss screens to meet your specific requirements.

The materials used are usually...

  • Stainless Steel (304 – 316 - 321)
  • Inconel
  • Titanium
  • Duplex
  • Super Duplex
  • Hastelloy C276
  • Cupronickel

Cylindrical Configurations

There are two cylindrical configuration types:
Cylinders
Re-rolled cylinders (from flat panels)

Cylinders

Euroslot Kdss offers the following conventional configurations directly from the winding process.

External radial wire

Normal external radial wire Ø 22 to 914mm as from 25µm

Inverse external radial wire

Inverse external radial wire Ø 22 to 914mm as from 50µm

Internal axial wire

Internal axial wire Ø 50 to 290mm as from 250µm

Re-rolled cylinders (from flat panels)

The following configurations are available after the re-rolling stage.

Internal axial wire

Normal internal axial wire minimum Ø 80mm (made to measure) as from 25µm

Internal radial wire

Normal internal radial wire minimum Ø 100mm (made to measure) as from 50µm

External axial wire

Normal external axial wire minimum Ø 100mm (made to measure) as from 50µm

External axial wire

Inverse external axial wire minimum Ø 100mm (made to measure) as from 75µm

Flat Configurations

Flat grids with horizontal position welding

Flat From Flat

Flat welded grid dimentions: maximum 2500 (along wire) x 3000mm supports, strictly at 90° to the wire.

Advantages:
No rippling of wire between the supports
Total evenness
High support pitches (every 25mm upto 200mm or more)

Flat grids made from a split flattened cylinder

Flat From Clyinder

Flat grid dimentions: maximum 2800 (along wire) x 4500mm

Advantages:
Fine filtration down to 50µm slots
Very tight support pitches

Design/Mechanical Calculations

We ensure all designs comply with international norms and standards of ASME and CODAP.

Calculations of deformation, bursting, buckling, bending, twisting, etc are used to support our technical choices, offering you optimum solutions in terms of reliability and safety.
